Tax Collection

Home / Tax Collection

The Tax Collector is responsible for the collection of the majority of Tax Bills for properties in the Town.

Receiving your Tax Bill(s)

The last week of December is when a third party mails residents their tax bills. Residents should receive their tax bills the first week in January. If your tax bill is not received, please send an email with contact information and mailing address to clerk@townofpavilion.com

PLEASE NOTE:

Failure to receive a property tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer of their responsibility to pay a tax bill or any resulting fees due at the time of payment, Real Property Tax Law 922.

Payment Schedule

January – Payments collected without penalty until JANUARY 31st

February – Payment collected with 1% penalty, until FEBUARY 28th (or 29th)

March – Payment collected with 2% penalty plus $2.00, until MARCH 31st

PLEASE NOTE:

By law we are unable to accept payments after March 31st. Postmarks are accepted and honored.

No Partial Payments or Installments can be collected. For example, if a check is sent in Post Dated February 3rd and is only for the January amount due, the check will be mailed back to the address on the check and payment will not be processed until the correct amount is paid.

If a check is returned for any reason, a letter will be sent to the resident. There will also be a $35 returned item fee owed to the Town of Pavilion.
