Birth, Marriage & Death Certificates
Copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates can be issued by the Town Clerk if the Town of Pavilion was the issuing agent for the vital record. Certified copies can be issued with proper identification, as these records are confidential.
Copies are $10 per copy.
Marriage licenses can be issued for $40. A one-day officiant license can be issued for $25. Certified copies are $10.
When getting a marriage license-Proof of Identification is required by both applicants and both applicants must sign the license. If both applicants are 18 years of age or older, no parental consent is required. If either applicant has a prior marriage, all divorce papers must be presented (or death certificate if applicable)
Some things to note:
- There is a 24-hour waiting period after license is issued.
- The license must be officiated within 60 days of issuing
- A marriage license can be issued at any NYS office, it does not have to be issued in the town in which you are married.
